We Still Got The Blues - The Spanish Castle (ESP)
We Still Got The Blues
The Spanish Castle, a band from Spain known for their soulful Gary Moore interpretations, is once again touring Finland and Sweden in February.
The material for the "We Still Got The Blues" tour consists of works by Gary Moore and other blues guitarists, mainly from Britain, spiced up with a few original songs by the band. At least the song "Marigold Road," which has become somewhat of a "cult hit" and has received high praise, will be played at every show.
All of this is performed with a Spanish-style groovy rhythm machine, full of emotion, feeling, and unique interpretation.
The Spanish Castle was formed in Málaga in 2017 and is composed of guitarist-singer Antti Kajander, who learned his craft in England and was once involved in the local jazz and blues scene as well as in the theatrical version of The Who's Quadrophenia, bassist Cañon Bass, and drummer Marcos Hostos, who are among the most sought-after musicians in Andalusia. For the Finnish concerts, the band will be joined by keyboard virtuoso Ilkka Joronen, who is well-known from various projects.
In January, the band will release their first live album, Live En Suecia, recorded in Södertälje and Gothenburg, in CD and vinyl formats.
The best remedy for the darkness of February is the sun-drenched, groovy celebration of the blues and boogie by The Spanish Castle.
