Theme: 100 Years of Finnish Jazz

The year 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the ship Andania on the Finnish coast, bringing with it a new musical genre: jazz.

One of the legends of Finnish jazz is saxophonist and composer Eero Koivistoinen, who celebrates his 80th birthday this year. Eero will perform at Korundi Hall for the first time and will also return to Rovaniemi after many years. The programme features Koivistoinen's own compositions from his long and distinguished career.

The evening begins with Arctic Brass Band, a group dedicated to the rich tradition of New Orleans jazz. Bringing the pulse of the streets of New Orleans to the North, this ensemble of professional musicians creates an energetic and joyful atmosphere that invites the audience to join the celebration. Their repertoire seamlessly combines the infectious rhythms of the New Orleans second line tradition with familiar northern melodies, creating a unique concert experience.
