Open Doors Day at Korundi on May 23, 11 AM–6 PM!

Korundi turns 15 in May, and the anniversary will be celebrated with an Open Doors Day. Admission to the art museum exhibitions is free from 11 AM to 6 PM. The programme includes an artist meeting with Mia Hamari, a self-guided workshop available throughout the day, and musical performances. Musicians from the Lapland Chamber Orchestra will entertain visitors during the day.

The Rovaniemi Art Museum currently features two contemporary art exhibitions filled with stories and perspectives from the North. In Sanctuary of Dreams by Mia Hamari, wooden and ceramic figures take over the space. Hamari is a sculptor who lives and works in Simo, and her dreamlike works intertwine past and present, reality and fiction.

Also on display is the Guests of Honour exhibition, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Rovaniemi Art Museum. The exhibition presents favourites selected by both visitors and museum staff from the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation Collection. It includes works by leading Finnish artists from the 1980s to the present day. This exhibition is not to be missed!

The art museum exhibitions are open from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Korundi Kitchen & Café is open from 12 PM to 3 PM (no lunch served).
