ArtThursday workshops in spring 2026

The hugely popular Art Thursday workshops continue in 2026!

Expect exhibition‑inspired, colourful workshops featuring a variety of changing techniques. Unless otherwise stated, the workshops take place in the museum’s art workshop space. Please check the exact location in each workshop description!

The workshops are free of charge and open to everyone. Seats are filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

2.7. & 9.7. / 16:00–18:00 / Workshop: The hues of the Nightless Night

On summer evenings in Lapland, the sun paints the landscape in the most magnificent hues! The lakeshore may stand out against the landscape as a bold silhouette while the sky glows with color! Come join us to create the sun-drenched landscapes of the nightless night using oil pastels! 

16.7. & 23.7. / 16:00–18:00 / Workshop: Art Fan

In this workshop, we’ll fold a cooling art fan for the hot days of July! The fan will be made from cardstock and decorated with drawings and all kinds of sparkling embellishments!

30.7. & 6.8. / 16:00–18:00 / Workshop: Revealing Leaves

Come discover the shapes of leaves using the frottage technique! In this technique, leaves collected from nature are placed under a sheet of paper, and the paper is rubbed with a soft colored pencil so that the raised parts of the paper take on color. If you’d like, you can bring your own houseplant leaves or leaves collected from trees and plants in nature to the workshop.
