ERJA LYYTINEN & FRIENDS: BLUE CHRISTMAS 2025 ERJA LYYTINEN - HANNA PAKARINEN - KÄRTSY HATAKKA

Lyytinen is one of the leading blues-rock guitarists operating on the international market, and she has been awarded many times in different categories over the years. In 2022, Lyytinen made history by being the first Finnish artist ever nominated for the Maple Blues Awards in Canada. In November 2024, Lyytinen was granted the Angel of Rock award by the British HRH Festival. The award is given for a significant contribution to the field of rock, metal, or blues music.

During her career, Lyytinen has performed alongside some of the world’s top guitarists, such as Carlos Santana, Sonny Landreth, Jennifer Batten, and Joe Bonamassa. Lyytinen’s latest album Smell the Roses was released in spring 2025. The album has received excellent reviews in international publications and reached sixth place on the UK IBBA radio chart in April 2025. Lyytinen also had the opportunity to showcase her singing skills in the Masked Singer program as The Skeleton.

This year’s Blue Christmas concert will once again feature a selection of Lyytinen’s own songs, atmospheric blue tones, and rocking Christmas pieces together with wonderful guest artists!

Hanna Pakarinen is known as the first and absolutely most legendary winner of Finland’s Idols. Her coronation was watched on TV by as many as 1.6 million viewers. Pakarinen performed in front of an even larger audience in 2007, when the magnificent-voiced artist represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest, uniquely on home ground at Helsinki’s Hartwall Arena. Throughout her career, Hanna Pakarinen, whose solo albums have reached gold and platinum, has radiated a tremendous passion for music. She is a trailblazer whose example has had a major influence on many new generation stars. Her cross-generational appreciation has only grown since she ended her eight-year release break in autumn 2021. Performing is the most important part of being an artist for Pakarinen, and she has said that being on stage is one of the best places in the world. Pakarinen delighted Blue Christmas listeners already on the 2024 tour in the Rovaniemi concert, lighting up the Christmas audience with her positive presence.

Kärtsy Hatakka is best known as the singer and driving force of the band Waltari, which has been active since the mid-1980s. Waltari, which combines metal, art music, folk music, and funk, has paved the way for the success of Finnish metal bands in Europe and has performed at mega festivals such as Roskilde and Wacken. In recent years, Kärtsy has also become known to a wider audience as an impressive solo performer who crosses genre boundaries with convincing ease. In his solo work, Kärtsy has moved from pop to rock, stamping his signature sound on every cover song he performs. In spring 2025, in the Tähdet, Tähdet competition, Kärtsy amazed the Finnish TV audience with his skill and authentic rock star presence. This year, Kärtsy will capture the Blue Christmas concert audience with his unique stage charisma and distinctive voice!
