Ihan tuuliajolla - Musical comedy (at 7 pm)
A Musical Comedy Featuring Hits by Eppu Normaali, Juice Leskinen, and Hassisen Kone
The musical tells the story of the most legendary rock cruise in Finnish history, featuring the mastermind Juice Leskinen along with the bands Eppu Normaali and Hassisen Kone. Tuuliajolla was a series of rock concerts held in towns along Lake Saimaa, as the bands sailed from city to city aboard the inland vessel Heinävesi. The first Tuuliajolla cruise took place in 1981, and a total of five tours were organized during the 1980s.
The story begins when Eino, a sports journalist for a regional newspaper, is reluctantly assigned to cover the rock cruise after the paper's music reporter falls ill. But how will Eino cope? He’s a yuppie who hates rock music and insists on going to bed early. Joining Eino on this wild tour are none other than Juice, Martti Syrjä, and Ismo Alanko.
The Tuuliajolla tour follows the lives and gigs of Finnish rock musicians over one hilariously chaotic week aboard a cruise ship in the Finnish summer. Eino’s buttoned-up lifestyle and values are turned upside down—thanks in no small part to a charming stewardess. How will the tour manager manage the rock stars, and what about the ship’s captain? What goes through Eino’s mind when he meets Andy McCoy, Armi Aavikko, and Danny? The musical features smash hits from the early 1980s by Juice Leskinen, Hassisen Kone, and Eppu Normaali.
