Seitakuoron svengijoulu vol. 2
Seitakuoro’s “Swinging Christmas” Returns – and This Year, It’s Bigger and Better Than Ever!
Just like last year, Seitakuoro will shake the frost from the trees with their jazzy Christmas concert, bringing beloved holiday classics to life with warmth and rhythm. The program features a rich selection of well-known hits from both the joyful American and the more serene Finnish Christmas song traditions.
Warm, multilayered arrangements beautifully highlight the tender and joyful sides of the season. Together, the audience and choir will enjoy classics such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, White Christmas, Mary, Did You Know, Hiljaa leijaa maahan hiutaleet (“Snowflakes Fall Quietly”), and Joulu, loisteesi luo (“Christmas, Shine Your Light”). Of course, the more upbeat swing numbers won’t be forgotten either — Jingle Bells, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Joulupukki matkaan jo käy (“Santa Claus Is Coming”), and Talven ihmemaa (“Winter Wonderland”) will get everyone’s toes tapping. New additions to this year’s program include the ever-charming When You Wish Upon a Star (“Samu-Sirkan joululaulu”) and the lively Blue Ridge Night (“Sinivuorten yö”).
In addition to these, there will be many surprises — changing ensembles, special arrangements, and unexpected musical moments. Accompanying Seitakuoro on stage are Kunnan pojat, and the phenomenal Mohammad Riazat, finalist of The Voice of Finland 2024, will deliver stunning solo performances.
Arrangements have been inspired by renowned vocal groups such as Rajaton, Club for Five, and Voctave, promising a full evening of harmony and swing — all in true Seitakuoro style.
The concert is conducted by Kadri Joamets.
