Guests of Honor – Celebrating 40 Years of the Rovaniemi Art Museum
Guests of Honor celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Rovaniemi Art Museum.
The exhibition presents favourites selected by both the public and the museum staff from Rovaniemi’s own Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation Collection. It brings together works from the museum’s very first exhibition and the most recent acquisitions by leading figures of the Finnish art scene.
The exhibition is a tribute to the artists who have been part of the museum’s story over the decades. Equally, the guests of honor are the works themselves – and the audience who have fallen in love with them over all these years.
You are warmly welcome to celebrate with us – as our guests of honor!

The story of the Rovaniemi Art Museum began on October 17, 1986, when the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation donated its art collection to the city of Rovaniemi. Over the years, the Wihuri Foundation Collection has grown from around 500 works to nearly 4,000, and it is now one of the most significant collections of Finnish contemporary art.
