Man flu stand up (FIN)

“Man flu” is a terrible illness. It contains plenty of drama, tragedy, and comedy—in other words, the full spectrum of life. There are numerous “what?” questions, even more “what the hell?” questions, and, above all, countless “how did this happen?” questions.

Is man flu a myth or a fact? What goes on inside a middle-aged man’s head when he suddenly finds himself in the Bona aisle of a hypermarket instead of at Motonet? What happens when all sense of control disappears and the ability to manage everyday life slips through his fingers? How does he make sense of his identity when sometimes even doing a load of laundry can feel overwhelming?

Ilari Johansson and Mika Räinä serve up a warm and hilarious blend of stand-up and theatre, exploring a man’s “medical history” and the real origins of man flu with empathy, humour, and understanding for all human beings. Man Flu challenges the audience to decide how many lines will appear on the test stick. The show is directed by Kalle Lamberg.

The play is an original production by Linnateatteri.
