Sony Music brings the beloved Moomin characters to life with new music and a stage production: a new Moomin album will be released in September, accompanied by a live musical theatre performance Comet in Moominland. Written and directed by Henna Tanskanen, the production brings the story to life through song, acting, and visual storytelling. The premiere will take place on September 29, after which the show will tour across Finland.

Based on the novel Comet in Moominland (originally Kometjakten, 1946), the performance focuses on themes central to Tove Jansson’s original stories: friendship, adventure, togetherness, and the courage to be oneself. The new songs expand the Moomin musical tradition with fresh lyrics and modern production, while the stage will also feature beloved classics in new arrangements.

Together, the new Moomin music releases and live performance create an experience that invites both children and adults to join the adventures in Moominvalley.
