Open Doors Day at Korundi - Rovaniemi Art Museum 40 Years
Let’s celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Rovaniemi Art Museum together!
Admission to the art museum’s exhibitions is free from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be workshops, musical performances, mini-tours, and coffee and cake
Museum staff will be on hand next to their favorite artworks from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come join us in the festive fun—even for the whole day!
Program:
Coffee and cake for the first 200 guests starting at 11 a.m., Korundi Kitchen & Café
Art Museum staff will be available at the “Guests of Honor” exhibition from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feel free to ask us about our work and our favorite artworks!
Mini-tours of the exhibitions, duration approx. 20 min:

2:00 p.m. “Master Painter Einari Junttila 125 Years”
Open art workshops in the workshop space from 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
Kunnan Pojat will perform several times throughout the day in various locations around the museum.
Artist Iiri Poteri’s performance installation "Whisper" on display as part of the "Guests of Honor" exhibition.
A self-guided greeting card workshop will be held all day in the art museum’s newly renovated open art space.

The birthday celebration is part of the “Culture Buffet” event series and the pilot projects of the Inclusive Centres of Culture (Interreg Aurora) initiative.
Since 2024, Culture House Korundi has been participating in the cross-border Inclusive Centres of Culture (Interreg Aurora) project, which aims to develop cultural centers in northern Finland and Sweden to be even more open and to serve increasingly diverse audiences. Throughout 2026, Korundi has been developing ways to lower the barriers to entry at the cultural center, based on information gathering, service design workshops, and various methods of audience engagement.
