Recital: Barbara Hannigan & Bertrand Chamayou

The concert year 2027 at Korundi Hall opens in exceptionally grand style as Barbara Hannigan, a pioneer of modern vocal music, and piano virtuoso Bertrand Chamayou perform at Korundi Hall.

The highlight of the concert is Jumalattaret, a monumental work by American avant-garde legend John Zorn. This nine-part song cycle draws on the texts and mythology of the Kalevala and has been described as almost impossible to perform. It pushes the limits of the human voice in a way only Hannigan can – and we are honoured to host its Finnish premiere!

Alongside Zorn, the programme features intense works by Olivier Messiaen and Alexander Scriabin.
