Steve 'n' Seagulls - The Dark Side of The Moo Tour

The Finnish bluegrass/pop rock band Steve ’n’ Seagulls will release their fifth studio album, The Dark Side Of The Moo, on October 3.

The album, which has been in the works for five years, blends “bluegrass” with “newgrass.” The musical influences consist of unpredictable and unexpected combinations that nevertheless come together like old fishing buddies. The record features both the band’s own pop rock–influenced songs and their interpretations of rock and metal classics spanning decades. The album was produced by Timo Kämäräinen.

The album’s lead single is the band’s own composition People Just Need To Love You, which takes their sound clearly in a more pop-rock direction.

Founded in 2010, Steve ’n’ Seagulls originated from the idea of filtering metal, folk, and rock through a bluegrass-style lens. Since then, the band has gathered around 346 million YouTube views and achieved a unique position where an American sound merges with Finnish identity through both cover songs and original material. The release of their Thunderstruck video in 2014 instantly turned their career into a sensation, after which they have recorded five studio albums and toured extensively across Europe and North America, both as headliners and at festivals, in over 30 countries.

Steve ’n’ Seagulls is the first and so far only Finnish band to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Bluegrass chart.
