Heli Haapala

Principal Flute

Heli Haapala started playing the flute at the age of nine with the Rauma Youth Band, which is where most of the wind instrument musicians from Rauma get their inspiration for playing. Via Turku and Lahti, her path took her to Rovaniemi and the Lapland Chamber Orchestra. Although there have been several teachers and other influences in terms of playing, the flautist believes that she has learned the most and the most diversely about music in the ranks of the Lapland Chamber Orchestra. Heli does not have a favourite composer, but she is particularly fascinated by both baroque and contemporary music.
