Nina Ronkainen

Principal 1st Violin

Nina Ronkainen started playing the violin at the age of five in Sirpa Lannes-Tukiainen’s Suzuki group and later at the Sibelius Academy’s Junior Academy, where her teacher was Yrjö Lasonpalo. She studied at the Helsinki Conservatory under Seppo Reinikainen and Gary Ronkin and from 1997 to 2000 at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem with Hagai Shaham as her teacher. She has also attended master classes by, for example,

Maria Vermes and Pavel Vernikov in Finland and abroad. Nina joined the Lapland Chamber Orchestra in the autumn of 2002 and has previously played in the Helsinki and Turku Philharmonic Orchestras, among others.
