Katja Wieck

1st violin sub-principal

Katja Wieck started playing the violin in Germany at the age of five. She studied at the University of music and theatre Rostock with Prof. Christiane Hutcap and completed her Master’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Prof. Henning Kraggerud. In addition, Katja has participated and gained inspiration from master classes with e.g. Igor Ozim, Henja Semmler, Elisabeth Kufferath and Mark Gothoni.

Before coming to Rovaniemi in autumn 2025 Katja previously played as a violinist in Sinfonieorchester Aachen, Staatsorchester Kassel and in the Arctic Philharmonic.
